We do have copies of some distributions.<br \/>\nIn general we have expertise with most distros, but if you need special<br \/>\nexpertise, please email the BLU discussion list in advance.<\/p>\n<p>COST: It&#8217;s free! However, we DO have expenses, and contributions are<br \/>\nwelcome. Please consider contributing $25 per machine.<\/p>\n<p>Our volunteers will help you to install Linux on your own system.  While<br \/>\nLinux runs on most systems, some systems do have configurations and<br \/>\nhardware that may not be supported. Please consult the following web<br \/>\npages for hardware compatibility. While we prefer you to bring your own<br \/>\ndistros, our volunteers will normally have<\/p>\n<p>     Linux.ORG: http:\/\/www.linux.org\/hardware\/index.html<br \/>\n     Hardware HOWTO: http:\/\/www.linuxdoc.org\/HOWTO\/Hardware-HOWTO.html<br \/>\n     Linux Frequently Asked Questions: http:\/\/www.linuxdoc.org\/<\/p>\n<p>Generally our volunteers have sets of the latest Fedora, SuSE and<br \/>\nUbuntu distributions:<br \/>\n       * Fedora &#8211; http:\/\/fedora.redhat.com (Fedora 10)<br \/>\n       * Open SuSE &#8211; http:\/\/opensuse.org (OpenSuSE 11.0)<br \/>\n       * Ubuntu &#8211; http:\/\/www.ubuntu.com  (Intrepid Ibex 8.10)<br \/>\n       * Debian &#8211; http:\/\/www.debian.org\/<\/p>\n<p>In addition, you can run Linux on your Windows PC through a virtual<br \/>\nmachine manager, such as Virtualbox. You can install this in your<br \/>\nWindows machine and run Linux as a guest OS, or install it in your Linux<br \/>\nmachine and run Windows as a guest. VirtualBox 2.1<br \/>\n(http:\/\/www.virtualbox.org.) is free and is available for Linux, Windows<br \/>\nXP and Windows Vista. Additionally, there are some VMWare clients that<br \/>\nare also free for Windows.<\/p>\n<p>Please refer to the BLU website (http:\/\/www.blu.org) for further<br \/>\ninformation and directions. Parking is available in front of the<br \/>\nbuilding on Amherst St. Enter the building, and take the elevator to<br \/>\nyour left down 1 floor.
